The paper sector's dependable partner

Despite today's ubiquitous computer use and increasingly accessible technology, paper is still an important part of our modern culture. Voith has been delivering solutions for the whole paper manufacturing process for over 130 years, and looks set to continue its success in line with a strong commitment to customers.

As Voith's oldest daughter company, Voith Austria Holding has a vital role to play in the manufacturing and distribution of machinery for the paper and packaging industry. Its chairman, Bernd Vogl, explains: "We specialize in the paper machine division and are experts in packing and cardboard machines. We are embedded in the Voith group in our three main business areas: paper technology, power transmission and process technology."

Located west of Vienna in St Pölten, Voith Austria is one of the global group's 70 production sites worldwide. From this quiet location in the countryside, the company exports machinery to a vast number of countries - including Japan:

"The recent order we received from Oji Paper was a benchmark," says Vogl. "It was one of Voith's first large orders from Japan and continues to be a very important project. We have proved our capability to provide high technology and we intend to look closely at this market in the future."

Vogl suggests the Austrian mentality lends itself to such international business relationships in both existing and potential markets: "I think we Austrians have the ability to understand different cultures because of our history. We are prepared to acknowledge differences and to act accordingly."

"To be successful requires ecological and technical competence plus high quality production skills," he adds. "We have all three factors here at Voith Austria - enabling us to be a reliable company and a dependable partner for our customers."

"We offer the latest and most advanced technology and want customers to know that we wont let them down," Vogl concludes. "Through all levels of the company, we want our customers to know that we are partners, working together and acting as a team."
