With the core principle "innovation will bring us forward", Wilhelm Klepsch founded Senoplast in 1956. Today the company has more than 45 years of experience manufacturing semi-finished plastic materials. Over 95 percent of its plastic sheets and films are exported to Europe, the US, Asia and Australia.
Under the brand name senosan®, Senoplast produces more than 41,000 tons of semi-finished plastic materials each year. They are used in a host of applications, from the automotive industry to refrigerators, credit cards and telephone-chip cards, as well as for the sanitary, packaging and furniture industries. Wilhelm Klepsch, the company's CEO, envisions new innovations for the automotive industry as well as for the sanitary industry as being strategically important for Senoplast's future growth. Intensive development work has been devoted for the past five years on a product that will replace car paint called senotop® in-mold film. Although there is still much development work to be done, this product has been successfully launched in series production for a roof module and spoiler for the MCC (MicroCompactCar) Smart car. The new product will not only make cars lighter, but also help the environment by eliminating harmful emissions caused by regular paint. Another new development that is already on the market is an antibacterial plastic film that is used in bathtubs to prevent bacteria from adhering to the sides of the tub. This eliminates the need for soap to clean the bathtub. It has created enormous interest and Senoplast is in the process of increasing production capacity to meet the high demand. Many of Senoplast's inventions benefit the environment. Last year the company won second place in an Austrian contest called "attainable environmental report" for its involvement in producing ecological solutions. Senoplast has also been honored with a first place nomination as the most innovative company in the state of Salzburg. Senco R&D, its fully owned research and development subsidiary, won a second place in the category of small-sized companies. The company continues to thrive by constantly developing new products for its customers. "Our products provide customers with solutions that enable them to produce higher value products," says Klepsch. "This provides them with a strong edge over their competition. Which explains our motto: Our strength - your advantage."
