Dutch roots for a company focused on global clients

At first glance, this company's inconspicuous products tend to blend in with our work and service environments without calling too much attention to themselves. But the careful research and practical innovation behind each product make sure they are resistant to the daily aggressions of modern life. If the users do not notice them, then those products are doing their job.

Firmly rooted in enterprising Netherlands, Trespa International has grown to become a leading manufacturer of high quality color panels for the international construction industry. Today, the company has a 50 percent market share in its local market and is continuing to increase exports to Japan.

"One of our key strengths lies in making our products suit the job, whether it is for an interior application or exterior facade cladding," explains managing director Frank Schouten. "Our research facility continually explores new possibilities to improve our sheet materials and utilize Trespa's unique, patented technology."

At the company's headquarters in Weert in eastern Netherlands, Trespa meets client needs through constant innovation in its brands: Meteon, Athlon, Virtuon and Toplabplus.

In Japan, where the company's best sellers are worktops and laboratory furniture, Trespa's Toplabplus line is renowned for being extremely resistant to chemical damage. The company's resilient panels are also increasingly being used in public spaces prone to vandalism and the associated use of aggressive disinfectants to erase graffiti.

"Our material is used as the dividing walls in public toilets in every subway station in Tokyo, for example" says Schouten. "Two hundred million passengers use these services everyday, and the amount of industrial cleaning products applied on our panels has really put our products to the test."

Increasing demand for high quality sheet material for a wide range of applications has made designers ever more aware of the impact modern buildings have on the aesthetics of our environment. By providing a solution to these concerns, Trespa has become a leading industry supplier with a view to continuing overseas expansion.

"We intend to look at where we can further apply our products successfully," says Schouten, announcing his current focus. "We want to continue to provide solutions which meet the demands of our clients."
