Since its foundation 27 years ago, Bional has become the leading health food supplement manufacturer in the Netherlands. Working in what is today a competitive industry, Bional believes they have maintained their position due to the growth of interest in natural food products. Bional has tapped into a growing market of health-conscious people by providing dietary supplements that can be consumed in a rapid and convenient form. Following a recent launch of new products, company vice president Peter Verpalen remarks: " We are pleased to say that we have created a new medical department as well and this will help us research and develop the best products for our markets. We already have fully committed partners in 15 countries to help build the Bional brand and distribute our products. Our aim for the next five years is to look at new international markets, and bring our unique philosophy to more foreign customers." "We have made good contacts in Europe in general, and have plans for Spain and Portugal. We are also dealing with distributors in Asia and are currently speaking to people in Taiwan. Japan is definitely in our strategy, we believe we are in a good position to look at new and interesting areas," he adds. "We have been described as entrepreneurs," remarks Verpalen. "This may seem far-fetched in an industry related to health but if you look at our history, we have certainly proven ourselves. Our strategy is to underpin all of our programs with the best human resources and develop our corporate identity." H.J. Bijl, Bional's managing director, is confident about the company's progress. "Most people know the outcome they want but it's getting there on time and within budget that remains the challenge. At Bional we have stayed focused and ultimately our aim is to deliver excellent products to a waiting international market."
