High tech at the push of a button

For over eight decades, Pentax has developed innovative optical instruments for an increasingly demanding worldwide customer base. Now celebrating 20 years’ presence in Sweden, the Japanese company remains focused on a sophisticated market eager to take on new technology at the push of a button.

Pentax Scandinavia has come a long way from its modest beginnings. Its general manager, Per-Anders Asplund, was one of the founders of the company in Sweden. He has taken great pleasure in seeing it – a key component of the European Pentax network – grow from strength to strength.

“Pentax is among the top five camera manufacturers in the world, focusing on design and technical features while remaining a family owned company,” explains Asplund. “I believe this strong family atmosphere distinguishes Pentax Scandinavia from the competition.”

As expected in a society noted for its openness to new technology, the number of cameras sold in Sweden is relatively high. Roughly 400,000 to 500,000 new cameras are sold each year in a population of just nine million, and Pentax’s revolutionary innovations in design consistently exceed customers’ expectations.
