Competing at the top

From its base in the heart of the country, Alpine Electronics of UK is delivering its high-quality products to Britain’s luxury car brands and retail customers.

The Midlands region has long attracted the lion’s share of Japanese investment into the United Kingdom, in particular in the electronics industry. So it’s no wonder that Alpine chose Coventry as its base for one of the largest markets around the world.

The company has been seeing strong growth in its business for some time, as it establishes the reputation for the quality of its service and brand.

Currently, 70 percent of Alpine’s work is providing high-end mobile media systems to luxury car makers. The level of excellence which it has consistently delivered to its seven major partners in the country has directly translated into increased orders, allowing the company to record annual growth of over ten percent. Alpine UK Managing Director Hiroshi Matsumoto analyzes: “The business has become very competitive in the past ten years, as the car manufacturers have developed their own know-how in this field.” So far, however, Alpine has thrived thanks to its innovative products and unblemished record of quality and on-time delivery.

Alpine also maintains a strong presence in the “after market”, which accounts for 30 percent of its business in the UK. Products are distributed under the Alpine brand, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary through chains of car accessories stores. Innovation and cutting-edge technology is the key to success in this market, and Alpine’s annual growth rate of ten percent here shows that they are keeping ahead of the competition. The company has recently developed products incorporating the latest advances such as a DVD and MP3 player.

Hiroshi Matsumoto, managing director of Alpine Electronics UK

As Matsumoto sums up, Alpine “aims to stay a strong, vital and superior company to deliver joy, dream and satisfaction to our customers through our products and services”.
